British Royal family news reveals there are new reports that suggest Queen Elizabeth may be trying to hide her wealth, despite the fact that she is one of the biggest names in the world and has a net worth of up to $480 million. Yet, there is a new report that says the Queen might have lobbied the British government to change a law to keep her wealth secret. Here’s what you need to know.

Queen Elizabeth is one of the richest people in the world, but she would rather you not know about that. According to Newsweek, she apparently had lawyers pressure civil servants to change a draft legislation so the public would not be able to find out about her share holdings from back in the 1970s. A proposed new law would reveal who owned or controlled shares.

If that weren’t enough, the Queen’s personal attorney at the time, Matthew Farrer, said his clients took the issue very seriously and added that any revelation of investments would have been embarrassing according to declassified government papers from the National Archives in the UK. Queen Elizabeth’s private legal adviser claimed civil servants “had put them into this quandary and must therefore find a way out.” With that said, royal experts believe that Queen Elizabeth’s personal wealth might be hard to track because of the laws and exemptions that apply to the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth Has No Plans To Retire Anytime Soon

Meanwhile, there are reports that say the Queen has no plans to step down from her throne anytime soon. Even though she will be turning 95, the Queen expects to stay on as the head of the monarchy for as long as possible. Even though she and her husband Prince Philip have been forced to stay indoors because of the global pandemic that has been Covid-19, sources say that the Queen is eager to continue her royal engagements and public appearances as soon as it will be safe for her to do so. So far the Queen has no plans in her calendar for the next immediate weeks, however, reports say that she plans on hosting President Joe Biden at Buckingham Palace this summer.
