British royal family news reveals that this will be the first Christmas that the clan celebrate without their former monarch and matriarch, the late Queen Elizabeth. While the traditional Sandringham gathering will take place, the tone and atmosphere will no doubt be a little different. A former member of the queen’s staff told People, “The first year is most difficult, as it is always the first of everything that you notice.” Plus, the family have some goss to get to, namely the antics of defectors Harry and Meghan.
Royal Family News – Sandringham Christmas
The family have not gathered at their Norfolk, England estate the previous two years two due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In another first, this year King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be the hosts. The source told the outlet, “It will be hard, as the Queen was all they knew, like most of Britain.”

The gathering will be notable for the absence of Harry and Meghan but it’s believed that the rest of Charles’ family will be there: Prince William, his wife Princess Kate, and their three, young children, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, and their families.
Prefacing the event, King Charles will deliver his first Christmas broadcast. The broadcast from the monarch is a holiday tradition, and he likely will mention the passing of his beloved mother who reigned for 70 years.
The palace source noted that his speech will, “resonate with a lot of people who have lost loved ones this year.” It’s also expected that the family will continue the holiday traditions started by late regent, including walking to the local church on Christmas morning and exchanging gag gifts on Christmas Eve.
Royal Family News – Meghan And Harry Not Invited To Christmas?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not expected to join the family for Christmas. This month they dropped their torrid Netflix docuseries in which they dragged the royals around some more, and next month Harry’s memoir, Spare, debuts. Both projects are said to have the family a bit rattled but they have kept their composure and refused to mud wrestle with the traitors.
Harry said in the reality show, “I have such happy memories of Sandringham—it was where we spent every Christmas.”
Some royal experts think that the book will match the couple’s infamous Oprah interview tit for trashy tat. However, someone in the Markle camp stated, “Some of the issues [Meghan and Harry] have raised are important, and I think both sides probably recognize that.” Probably not, not when the issues are treated like grenades lobbed in a publicly humiliating way.
