British royal family news shows that Kate Middleton, Duke of Cambridge has inherited the warm embrace the public bestowed upon her late mother-in-law Princess Diana as her new nickname reveals. Down to earth, beloved Diana became known as the “People’s Princess” and now the Duchess of Cambridge has been given a similarly sweet royal nickname.

After recently turning 39 Kate thanked fans for their outpouring of love and support. Her main philanthropic endeavor is a childhood initiative and she works mainly with charities involving kids. One fan dubbed her the, “Children’s Princess” and it seems to have stuck.

“Happy birthday to the Children’s Princess,” tweeted one fan, and another said, “You are the princess of children’s hearts because you do a lot of good things for them. We love you so much!”

A palace insider told New Idea Royals Monthly, “It’s a genius idea, one we hope takes off. Catherine has done an amazing job under the pressure of living up to her mother-in-law, but this would be a beautiful way for her to step out from under Diana’s shadow and forge her own path.”

“She absolutely adores children and parents, especially those less fortunate, and it’s very fulfilling for her to work with them.”

Diana had a similar affinity for those who were born not into wealth and privilege like herself. Her nickname the “People’s Princess” speaks to her considerable compassion for the everyday person and the normalized way she tried to live her life.

On the opposite of the spectrum, it could be argued, is “Princess Pushy” the nick name given to Meghan Markle by her sister Samantha Markle. Last night Meghan and her husband Harry dropped multiple bombshells against his family in their interview with Oprah including the palace silencing Meghan. She claimed that in 2018, “I wasn’t allowed to have that conversation with you personally.”
