As a matter of fact, there’s a new report that says the Duchess of Sussex couldn’t help but raise her eyebrow when Prince Harry bypassed tradition to propose to the former Hollywood actress. Kate Middleton Was Reportedly Concerned About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Relationship Before Prince William

Apparently, Kate Middleton saw all of this coming way before anyone else did. Express.co.uk reports that the Duchess of Cambridge thought it was rather odd that Prince Harry didn’t ask Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., for permission to marry his daughter. After all, that has always been a tradition within the royal family.

Instead, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got engaged after nearly two years of marriage and a few months after Meghan moved to the UK to be with her future husband. Yet, for some reason or another Prince Harry never contacted Thomas to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage. What’s more, he never even had the opportunity to meet Thomas, even though he was dating his daughter for quite some time at that point.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward puts it this way, “Kate voiced concerns to the family after Harry and Meghan stayed at her and Prince William’s Anmer Hall home in Norfolk for a weekend. She (Kate) could not understand why Harry had never met his future father-in-law, nor why Meghan, who Harry assured was the one and ‘ticked all the boxes, appeared embarrassed about her family and unwilling to speak about them apart from her mother.”
