At least, that’s what some people seem to be predicting as there’s a new report that suggests over 7.7 billion people around the world will most likely “ignore the event” altogether. While there’s no doubt that royal weddings like the one Prince William and Kate Middleton has in 2011 and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s in 2018 managed to draw large crowds, the same can’t be said about King Charles’ Coronation.

It seems as though there just isn’t that much interest in the new King of England which is probably why a lot of people won’t be tuning in to see his Chubbly celebration.

One source close to the situation put it this way, “Global viewing figures are always difficult to measure. But to suggest the Coronation would attract even half a billion does not stand up to scrutiny.

All the available evidence suggests that global interest, while high in certain places, is generally far lower than for sporting or other major national events.

Olympic opening ceremonies and the first inauguration of President Obama are among those events that are likely to have had larger global audiences, with good reason.”

Royal Family News: What’s Next For King Charles?

The tipster continued, “It’s really important we get a clear and accurate picture of interest in the monarchy and their set-piece events, as these nonsense figures only mislead the public and distort the debate on the monarchy.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter. But even with that said, it seems as though the palace has even had a hard time trying to get A-list stars to come perform at the Coronation, too.
