Royal Family News: King Charles’ Public Appearances Plagued By Protests

Royal Family News says that there’s a very good chance that King Charles’ public appearances will continue to be plagued by protests.

That’s because a lot of people in the UK have made it no secret that they are tired of the monarchy and that they really don’t see a reason why it should continue to exist, even with King Charles as the state’s new leader. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

It looks like ‘Not My King’ is going to continue being a theme at protests throughout Great Britain. The leader of the UK’s largest anti-monarchy group, Graham Smith, recently suggested that they are not going to disappear anytime soon. In fact, he even issued a warning to the monarchy and suggested that his group is not deterred one bit by it, too.

He said, “It has galvanized people. We will look to ramp up protests this year.”

Back in April, Graham said that he was looking forward to protesting at King Charles’ coronation. Luckily, his protest didn’t make many waves that day, and that might have been because of the rainy weather. Still, Graham did say at the time, “We are aiming for a party atmosphere. We always try to engage with those people, keep it lighthearted. Some people get annoyed and upset, but most people accept the fact that people are allowed to protest. We’ve also got the police around if there’s any trouble.”

He continued, “A lot of the people aren’t really staunch monarchists, they’re just there to see something that’s big or historic or whatever. We see them as potential republicans.”

So far King Charles has not made any comments about the matter but at the same time, it will be hard to drown out the noise from the protests if they continue to show up at all of his royal engagements and public appearances. Let’s hope for King Charles’ sake that it continues to rain during the right times, right?
