Royal Family News: Lady Louise Windsor On The Cusp Of Life Changing Decision

British royal family news shows that 18-year old Lady Louise Windsor is on the cusp on an important decision. She is the only daughter of Edward and Sophie, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and one of thousands of students now studying for their final year of A-Levels. She will receive the results this summer and at that point will have to make what could be a life altering choice.

Like many of her UK peers, Lady Louise could decide to take a gap year before continuing her higher education or she might apply to continue her studies at a university. Her cousin Prince William chose to take a break by going to Chile. There he spent three months helping out on community projects with Raleigh International. He also worked on a farm closer to home in the UK.

The future heir’s younger brother, Prince Harry, also spent three months abroad after high school. He chose to go to a working ranch in southern Queensland, Australia and later spent time in South Africa.

Royal Family News – What Will Lady Louise Do Next?

Then again some of the young royals went an entirely different route. For example, Lady Louise might imitate her cousin Princess Beatrice who chose to do an internship. Beatrice worked at Selfridge’s in London. Then again she may surprise royal watchers and choose to begin a working career immediately. It has been widely speculated that neither Louise nor her younger brother, James, Viscount Severn, 14, will take on royal duties.

Lady Louise’s mother has more than once commented on the path her children will trod. In an interview with The Sunday Times in June 2020, Sophie said, “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.”

Sophie added, “She’s working hard and will do A-levels. I hope she goes to university. I wouldn’t force her, but if she wants to. She’s quite clever.”
