British royal family news reveals that despite rumors Queen Elizabeth will step down from the throne when she turns 95 in 2021 there are lavish plans to celebrate her milestone reign with tons of pomp and circumstance in 2022.
Britain is in a second historic coronavirus lockdown but the country will be treated to a “blockbuster weekend of celebrations” when the queen celebrates her Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Britain Will Have With Four Days Of Celebration In June 2022 To Celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
Some think that Buckingham Palace has issued a statement about the 2022 celebration with the aim of shutting down talk of the queen stepping down next year.
In contrast, to talk of her abdication, culture secretary Oliver Dowden has announced that there will be a four day bank holiday to celebrate the monarch’s 70-year reign.
This will be accomplished by moving the May Bank Holiday Weekend to Thursday, June 2, and an additional Bank Holiday will be given on Friday, June 3 which will make for a four-day weekend to celebrate the historic Platinum Jubilee.
Queen Elizabeth’s Upcoming Platinum Jubilee Is The First Time Any British Monarch Has Celebrated This Event
The four-day celebratory occasion will feature a broad mix of events that include traditional British ceremony and pageantry with modern-day artistic and technological shows. “This historic event will reflect on Her Majesty’s reign, and her impact on the UK and the world since 1952.” No doubt the nation will wait with anticipation for the four day weekend as 2022 dawns.
An inside source reveals that Her Majesty is fully on board with the lavish celebrations and likely will have a scaled-down 95th birthday event because she is, “saving the celebrations for her Platinum.”
The Queen Has An Exciting Two Years Coming Up To Mark Her Reign As Sovereign
The source said, “The Queen loves a Jubilee, and she is very much looking forward to her Platinum Jubilee.”
Other sources are speculating that the upcoming event will rival the spectacular Diamond Jubilee held in 2012. At that time a 1,000-boat flotilla sailed down the Thames and a star-studded concert was held at Buckingham Palace.
The announcement of the Platinum Jubilee comes on the heels of speculation that Queen Elizabeth may step down and allow Prince Charles to succeed in 2021. Royal watcher Robert Jobson has claimed Britain’s longest-reigning monarch will announce her retirement next year. He told True Royalty, “I still firmly believe when the Queen becomes 95, that she will step down.”
