British royal family news teases that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle, aka the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are such a big deals their joint bio needs to be updated a year after its release. Add to that the fact that Harry’s memoirs will be published next year and you get a clue as to the enormity of their global impact and importance even though neither has even hit the big 4-0 yet.

Their 2020 bio Finding Freedom made a splash for all the wrong reasons. When it dropped last August the tone was distinctly treacly probably owing to the fact that it was half written by Meghan Markle’s self-anointed “soul mate.” So much for objectivity.

Then there’s the fact that the Markle’s tried to deflect any involvement in the stink bomb book by saying they had no involvement. Someone forgot to tell their soul mate/pet journalist Omid Scobie that because he thanked them both in the book. Awkward.

So, such a significant tome needs to be updated. What pray tell will Scobie Doo tell the world this time out? He will fill in the blanks about Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh’s death. We can tell you the only thing you need to know about that right now and save yourself a few bucks: Harry and Meghan gave a trashy interview slamming his family while Philip was on his death bed. Because that’s the kind of people they are.

The bio will also include a new chapter that, according to the publisher HarperCollins, will describe, “Meghan’s emotional healing journey from losing a child to the birth of their daughter.”

The first edition was written by authors Scobie and Carolyn Durand and covered their meet up in 2016 all the way to their abrupt and infamous departure from the monarchy in early 2020.

But wait, there’s more! The new and improved bio will also have an updated epilogue all about that tawdry Oprah Winfrey interview and their luxe move to California. The tome is also thought to include updated content on their lucrative and controversial multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify. If they have actually completed a project for either company by the August 31 drop date, that should be included, but trigger alert: don’t hold your breath. The privileged and exhausted pair are in the midst of a months-long “work” leave following the birth of their second child in June.

HarperCollins gave these juicy details to anticipate while you wait for the refreshed booked to emerge: “Behind the scenes of Prince Harry and Meghan’s ground breaking interview with Oprah, details behind the couple’s move to California (and) the various philanthropic and business endeavours the Sussexes have been involved with since their move and what’s to come with Archewell Productions,” are what you can look forward to. Or not.
