British royal family news shows that oops, she did it again (!) Rachel is stealing King Charles’ thunder. Rachel Meghan Markle aka Rachel Zane from Suits takes pride of place in the UK on the exact day her father-in-law King Charles celebrates his official birthday celebrations.

Friday, June 16 marks the day that fans can stream Netflix’s Suits which just so happens to be the day that one of the country’s biggest events, Trooping the Colour, takes place. Is it any coincidence that Harry and Meghan were not invited? Let’s unpack this latest Markle vs. Royal brouhaha!

Royal Family News – Prince Charles’ Birthday

When one is monarch in the UK, one gets two birthdays. Prince Charles was born on Nov. 14 but Trooping the Colour is a dyed in the wool tradition that happens each summer and is described as being held on the monarch’s “birthday.”

This year Netflix has decided to drop “Suits — The Complete Series” on Saturday, and the timing is a bit curious given the cold war between the Markles and the royals. Last December Netflix dropped the couple’s docuseries, “Harry & Meghan” a reality show all about the Hollywood Hoboes that gained them estimated millions.

According to the New York Post, Meghan “starred on the USA Network series from Season 1 in 2011 through Season 7, with her final episode airing in April 2018 — just weeks before she tied the knot with Prince Harry, 38. Suits marked Markle’s final acting project.”

Suits was Meghan’s claim to fame before Harry, but she dragged it to Variety saying “There were just certain things that were accepted. If there was any discomfort, you just dealt with it. It forced a lot of women to live with this idea of staying silent, not being disruptive, not giving voice to the things that might create concern or discomfort.”

She added “For me, I had tried for so long to land on a show, filming all these pilots, wondering if they would get picked up. All of Season 1 on ‘Suits,’ I was convinced I was going to get recast. All the time.”

It’s been widely reported that the Markles were not invited to Charles’ Saturday celebrations with Daily Mail columnist Richard Eden noting a source told him “I’m afraid it’s a reflection of the state of relations at the moment.” Can’t we all just be friends?
