British royal family news shows that Meghan Markle’s Spotify series will be a podcast about female stereotypes. She promises to use the Archewell Audio project get to the bottom of, “labels that try to hold women back.”

It’s called ‘Archetypes’ and may debut this summer. Princess Pinocchio is the host who will talk to those of have been stereotyped.

A trailer of the podcast was released today and lucky listeners get to hear the royal runaway say, “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us. But where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?”

She went on to say, “This is Archetypes – the podcast where we dissect, explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back. I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives.”

But wait there’s more! “And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.”

In August Meghan Markle filmed a cringe video on her birthday, telling other women they need to get back in the workplace—guess she’s getting around to putting her hoof where her mouth is.

Actually, Meghan and Harry are two years behind schedule with Spotify. In late 2020 they signed a luxe deal to host and produce podcasts, estimated to be worth around £18million.

To date they have done less than a half hour’s worth of work for the streamer and Spotify took the unprecedented step of advertising for actual workers to do the shows they promised and never did.

Both Spotify and Archewell Audio issued this statement: “Spotify and Archewell Audio both value responsible stewardship of the audio landscape, and as explained recently, are committed to working closely to support transparency and strong principles of trust and safety.” Perhaps Meghan will translate all that jargon if and when she finally goes back to work.
