Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Thought The Monarchy Needed Her More Than She Needed Them

British Royal family news reveals well, pinch us if we haven’t heard this before. British Royal News says that Meghan markle once thought that the monarchy needed her more than she needed them.

In fact, the Duchess of Sussex apparently acted like the ‘leading lady’ of the royal family behind the scenes as she apparently “wanted her leading lady status to be reflected in lights.” Wow. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Tina Brown, who wrote the book Palace Papers, the Duchess of Sussex conducted herself as though she was the star of the royal family during her state trip with Prince Harry to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji in October 2018 and months after their royal wedding.

Brown said, “She had starred in the equivalent of a blockbuster film and wanted her leading-lady status to be reflected in lights. That was something that puzzled the royal household tremendously.

Their tour of Australia was a wild success, more successful than Kate and William’s, in terms of crowds and the adulation. She [Meghan] wanted to be able to talk about the causes that she cared about as her, as opposed to being a representative figure in the monarchy.”

She continued, “There was a real sense of disappointment when she came home that somehow she was a star beyond, you know, anything one had seen before, except for Diana, really, on this tour. I guess, it was the star power essentially that she felt now was bigger than what she was allowed to do in the monarchy.”
