Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Used Her Wedding As A “Social Climbing” Event

British royal family news reveals that when Harry Met Meghan there was reportedly a lot of consternation at the castle. She—an American divorcee actress—was not the sort of girl Harry had previously brought round to meet the fam. As such it’s been said that his brother William tried to talk sense into him and cool his jets as he thought he was moving way too fast for a bachelor of his caliber.

According to Tina Brown’s latest book, that brotherly caution only made Harry move faster—in 2018 the former game show girl and the naked Vegas pool boy made it official with a grand wedding, the pews stuffed full of celebs.

Now it comes out that thirsty Meghan reached for the stars literally when making out the guest list. According to Brown the former cable actress invited all kinds of famous people she barely knew. “Meghan reportedly took the opportunity to use her nuptials as an opportunity to make high-profile friends,” according to Tina Brown’s new book, The Palace Papers.

According to Brown, Meghan’s reach exceeded her grasp as, “Serena Williams, David and Victoria Beckham, Priyanka Chopra, Elton John, and the cast and producers of Suits all received gold-embossed invitations,” to her 2018 nuptials. Brown alleges that, “the celebrity guests were a portrait not of Meghan’s intimate circle but of the friends she most wanted to recruit.” Oh my, tacky and wacky all at the same time.

Oprah Winfrey was there and that is how Meghan, “reportedly gained access to,” the talkmeister.

Brown’s assertions about thirsty Meghan are downright embarrassing: “Oprah, whom Meghan had scarcely met, if at all, was seated in prime pew real estate opposite the Queen … Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, who floated up the steps of the chapel in a stunning liquid yellow dress and wide-brimmed tea-tray hat, was seated with the debonair George opposite Princess Margaret’s son, Viscount Linley.”

Apparently George and Amal were asked by Princess Diana’s former roommate how they knew Harry and Meghan, and the pair said, “We don’t.”

Brown hints broadly that Meghan used her wedding as a social-climbing event and apparently it worked since Winfrey and Williams are said to now be close to Megs. So close that Meghan and Harry aired their dirty laundry to Oprah in an astonishing display of rude petulance, trashing his family who two years before gave them the wedding of their dreams.
