British Royal family news reveals a biographer has disputed Meghan Markle, Duchess of Susex’s claim that she was not allowed to leave the palace for several months. In a previous interview with Oprah, Markle claimed that it seemed like she was trapped in a Royal prison.
Viewers are still talking about the previous interview of Oprah with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. During that time, Meghan made a lot of claims including not being allowed to go out. However, Markle’s biographer has belied her claims and said she was seen outside the palace during the time she claimed that she can’t go out of the palace.
Oprah’s Interview With Meghan
During her interview with Oprah, Markle claimed that she was allowed to do only little things and can’t even leave the palace to meet with her friends because of her current situation with the media.
The former Suits actress said that people in The Firm told her she can’t do certain things because it will make her look a certain way. She wasn’t allowed to even have lunch with her friends because she was “oversaturated.” She was told that it would be better if she doesn’t go out with her friends.
Markle added that one of the members of the family told her to lay low because she’s everywhere at that time. Markle argued, “I’ve left the house twice in four months. I’m everywhere, but I am nowhere.”
She added that everyone was too focused on how things look and forget to consider how it feels. She said she was very lonely during that time.
Biographer Says Markle Wasn’t A Lonely Prisoner
Biographer, Andrew Morton, has spoken up and countered Markle’s claims of being some lonely prisoner in the palace. Morton recalled that Meghan Markle claimed that she left the palace twice only in the span of four months. However, he said that Markle was seen on different occasions during that time. She was spotted having lunch and dinner appointments in Notting Hill, beauty treatments in Kensington, and going on shopping trips. There were several photos showing Markle out and about during that period but British newspapers delinked to purchase these snaps.

Morton also addressed her allegations that she felt silenced and trapped because her keys, passport, and driver’s license were all taken away. However, he argued that if that was true, then she shouldn’t have been seen making various speeches on equality, female empowerment, and other issues. She wasn’t spotted in just a single location but also in different parts of the world while traveling on commercial and private planes.
Morton addressed all these things in his book titled Meghan: A Hollywood Princess. He also authored the best-selling biography of Princess Diana titled Diana: Her True Story.
