British royal family news reveals that the fairytale ballad of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle began in the summer of 2016.
In light of all the recent, erm, activity, surrounding these two, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and reminisce about how such a once promising story about two young and beautiful royals who would reinvigorate the kingdom wound up to be a smoking train wreak on Oprah Winfrey’s cry baby couch.
Royal Family News – 2016 Was An Auspicious Year
Meghan’s official introduction as Harry’s girlfriend in 2016 ushered in what could be considered the first red flag when the palace released a statement condemning the, “wave of abuse and harassment,” the actress received in the media.
The November 2016 statement read, “Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.”

“He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game — it is her life and his.”
Royal Family News – 2017 Was No Better
Next, sources told Us that things went south after Harry introduced Meghan to William and Kate in January 2017. Older brother William reportedly suggested to Harry to, “take as much time as you need to get to know this girl,” which allegedly upset Harry no end.
The book, Finding Freedom, said that Harry was “pissed off. Some felt it was an overreaction. But then, this sums them up as people — William, the calm and rational one, and Harry, who can’t help but take things far too personally.”
Despite Meghan claiming that the royals neglected to include her in things, she was the first and only “fiancée” to be invited to Christmas with the royal family that year.

Royal Family News – Was 2018 Any Better?
In May 2018 Meghan’s wedding brought plenty of rumors of her behavior. There were reports that she reduced Kate to tears over Princess Charlotte’s outfit and that Meghan demanded a certain tiara which was not hers to demand–the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara.
Meghan made no friends when she decided to upstage Princess Eugenie at her own wedding by announcing to everyone that she was pregnant. “It didn’t go down particularly well with Eugenie, who a source said told friends she felt the couple should have waited to share the news,” Finding Freedom reported.
In 2018 Meghan’s personal assistant, Melissa Toubati, and secretary, Samantha Cohen, quit and a royal insider told Us that for poor Meghan, “It’s just been frustrating and stressful to have no voice. She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling. She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her. She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”
Royal Family News – What Was 2019-2021 Like?
By 2019 Harry and Meghan were no longer choosing to celebrate Christmas with the rest of his family and in January 2020 Harry and Meghan dropped their Megxit stink bomb. In February 2021 the announcement was made that the two were officially excised from the royal family.
Which brings us to the present day when the whole world awaits the Markle’s sit down, tell-all with Oprah Winfrey on March 7 on CBS at 8 pm. No doubt a whole new round of accusations will be launched, while sadly patriarch Prince Philip remains hospitalized after heart surgery.
