British royal family news reveals that ahead of Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir another royal family fringe dweller is causing heartburn—Mike Tindall, husband of Princess Anne’s daughter Zara. Up until now his greatest faux pas was his wonky, perpetually broken nose. Mike Tindall is a former rugby star and it’s claimed that his MIL was highly dismayed that he refused to have his schnoz fixed for the wedding photos. That could all seem like harmless child’s play now that he’s joined the cast of a red hot reality show, with many pundits tipping him to win it all.
Royal Family News: Mike Tindall Reality Star
Mike is starring on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here. If the royals thought he would fade into the woodwork, they were sadly mistaken. Hours in he’s already raised eyebrows with his comments and behavior (it’s a reality show people!). Newsweek’s Chief Royal Correspondent Jack Royston thinks that the he-man’s appearance on the ITV reality show is not a good look for The Firm, especially as the fam waits on tenterhooks for Harry’s controversial memoir, Spare, to drop in January.
Jack told Good Morning Britain, “We’re waiting for Harry’s memoir, it’s going to come out it’s gonna be full of all these bombshells. And then all of this machinery of royal sources and Palace sources and so on will kick into gear to say he’s cashing in on his royal fame and his royal connection.” Then out of nowhere comes Mike Tindall.

As Jack noted after compromising pics of the pro athlete were published, “We’ve also had pictures with his [Mike’s] hands all over a female TV producer, which doesn’t look good for the royals and probably will be embarrassing for Zara.” And yet the talkative, outgoing former rugby player is already popular with campmates and viewers alike. He has legit survival skills and he’s entertained with pillow talk about Zara Tindall. Oh my.
Royal Family News – Mike Tindall And Zara Tindall
This week Mike spilled deets on his first date with King Charles’ niece. He dished that the two were set up by friends in Sydney in 2003. They did lunch and both got “quite boozy.”
He said, “Then we figure out we both quite like getting smashed.” While his repartee is nowhere near the trash talking of Harry and Meghan, he’s still spilling secrets on a reality show; what would the queen say? Despite the controversy, pundit Nick Ede told Good Morning Britain, “I really think he could be the new King of the jungle because he has got such a great personality. You’ve got to remember he was a celebrity before he was part of the royal family.”
The good news is that, “From a PR point of view this is a great thing for them because all eyes are going to be on The Crown, all eyes are going to be on Harry’s book and actually this is a really positive way of showing him as a really fun person who’s part of a great family.” As long as he doesn’t spill any more intimate secrets or get handsy with the talent.
