British royal family news shows that justice has been served, in part, to Prince Andrew, Duke of York. His lawyers have now accepted that he was appropriately served with legal papers brought in a civil suit in New York by accuser Virginia Roberts.
Their acceptance now means that he will be involved in a US court battle just as Queen Elizabeth makes plans to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.
Royal Family News – Prince Andrew Is The Accused
Andrew, ninth in line to the throne, has 21 days to respond to the accusations of sexual assault and sexual battery, according to the Daily Mail.
Roberts’s attorney David Boies also told the Mail that he expects the prince’s Andrew Brettler to ask for a “reasonable” extension to respond that he would agree to the request.
Additional sources confirmed that Prince Andrew’s team will indeed ask for an extension. The insiders claimed that Andrew will, “come out fighting,” and repudiate Roberts’ accusations, “point by point, claim by claim,” in a bid to clear his arguably tarnished name. Andrew has always denied the accusations.

A second preliminary hearing will be held in Manhattan on October 13. Last week, after the papers were left with a policeman at Andrew’s gate, his lawyer argued that the legal papers had not been properly served.
In legalese, “For one person to sue another in a civil case, the claimant has to formally present legal papers to the other party to notify them of the action – a process known as a service of proceedings.”

Royal Family News – Was Andrew Properly Served?
In response Roberts’ legal team gave documents to a court in New York saying they sent papers to Brettler in Los Angeles via FedEx courier as well as email notifying Andrew of the case.
Boies said, “Prince Andrew’s counsel have agreed that service has been made. Theoretically the clock is now ticking. However, it would be normal for them to ask for, and for us to agree to, a reasonable extension of time to respond to the complaint.”
Now it’s beng reported that Andrew is encouraged to drop his current London-based legal team after its strategy has been deemed ineffective.
According to outlets, friends and associates of Andrew the Duke of York see his London-based lawyers as being “outwitted” by Boies.
