British royal family news reveals that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, has given his consent to be questioned on March 10 as part of a sexual abuse lawsuit brought against him by Virginia Giuffre. A source told CNN on Saturday that Andrew will give a statement from the UK, as part of the New York based civil case against him.
Royal Family News – Andrew Will Give A Statement Under Oath
Giuffre alleges that she was a sex trafficking victim when the Duke had sex with her on three occasions when she was 17. He has denied the charges against him. She has stated that Andrew’s friend, dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, forced her to perform sex acts with the disgraced prince.
Giuffre’s lawyer David Boies has said that he is looking, “forward to confronting Prince Andrew with his denials and attempts to blame Ms. Giuffre for her own abuse at his deposition and at trial.”
According to the Daily Telegraph, the deposition will take two days and be conducted by Boies and lawyer Sigrid McCawley.
Royal Family News – Andrew Denies The Charges Against Him
The civil case brought by Giuffre against Prince Andrew was filed under New York’s Child Victims Act. That state law, “expanded the statute of limitations in child sex abuse cases to give survivors more opportunities to seek justice.” One of Giuffre’s lawyers told CNN last summer that she filed the case in order to show that, “all perpetrators of abuse should be held accountable.” Boies has stated that there will be no out of court settlement if Andrew does not admit to meeting Giuffre.

Royal Family News – What Will Andrew Say?
Prince Andrew initially asked the judge to throw the case out, and when that was refused, Andrew formally demanded a jury trial. The deposition is expected to take place next month but Andrew has until July 14 to answer questions about the case under oath. The case may be settled out of court, but if not a trial date is expected to be set in fall.
The allegations against Queen Elizabeth’s son have resulted in him being stripped of royal duties, military titles and charities. If the case goes to trial it would be history making as no other senior British royal has had a comparable scandal in recent memory.
