Royal Family News: Prince Andrew Vows To Clear His Name

British royal family news shows that Prince Andrew vows to “defend himself” now that it has been made clear that the sex abuse lawsuit filed against him is not going away. Yesterday the judge threw out a motion by Andrew’s lawyers to have the case tossed, and today things went from bad to worse when the Queen stripped him of all royal titles and military patronages.

To this end Andrew, the Duke of York, can no longer use the words His Royal Highness, “in any official capacity.” And, in a blatant move showing that Andrew will not have royal resources behind him going forward, it was made clear that he will face the American lawsuit as a private citizen.

Prince Andrew Will Not Have Palace Resources

Despite the queen’s renunciation, a source close to Andrew told the Daily Mail that he would, “continue to fight Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s allegations after the judge dismissed his legal team’s attempt to have the case thrown out. Given the robustness with which Judge Kaplan greeted our arguments, we are unsurprised by the ruling. However, it was not a judgement on the merits of Ms Giuffre’s allegations.”

They added, “This is a marathon not a sprint and the duke will continue to defend himself against these claims.”

Prince Andrew Will Fight On

Despite the source’s conviction, legal experts have claimed that Andrew has, “only bad options.” Amid such expert pessimism, there are public pleas for Prince Andrew to, “do the right thing for the Queen,” and settle out of court with cash.

It has been reported that accuser Virginia Roberts is not interested in a cash settlement and instead wants to have her voice be heard in court.

The judge indicated that the case will be heard this autumn.

Prince Andrew’s Case is Moving Forward

This week, US District Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled against Andrew’s bid to cancel the case. For his part, Andrew’s lawyers have been accused of trying to, “dodge, duck, run and hide,” from the case. When that didn’t work and papers were served, his lawyer called Roberts a, “money-hungry sex kitten.”

The lawyer went on to say Roberts wanted what amounted to a “payday.” Prince Andrew has denied all the accusations against him. Roberts’ lawyer, David Boies, “vowed that she would not give in, even if offered a bonanza cash settlement.”

“She wants to achieve justice. I think it’s very important to Virginia Giuffre that this matter be resolved in a way that vindicates her and vindicates other victims.”
