Royal Family News: Prince Charles Was Married to Princess Diana
Royal expert Tom Bower has a new book out and in it he comments on the aftermath of Prince Charles’ divorce from the late Princess Diana. Apparently he and his mother Queen Elizabeth got into a heated argument after the ugly and contentious divorce. The split occurred after Princess Diana went on television and made scandalous statements, reportedly leading Her Majesty to demand the two divorce.
Among her outrageous comments was her opinion that Prince Charles would make a lousy king. Adding insult to injury, she went on to talk about Charles’ adultery.

To be fair, Princess Diana also talked about her own adulterous behavior while still married to the future king. During the BBC interview she mentioned that there were three people in her marriage, with Camilla Parker Bowles being the third wheel.
All of that is now water under the bridge as today Camilla is the second Mrs. Charles. But before she cemented her status as the next queen consort, Queen Elizabeth did her best to put the kibosh on any relationship between her son and his one-time mistress.
According to Bower, Charles told his mother that he intended to make Camilla an honest woman. Or words to that effect.

Her response was savage if Bowers is correct in writing that Prince Charles ran from the room crying.
“Not only did they not want her present at any royal function, either formal or informal, they actively disapproved of her, and of Charles’ relationship with her,” Bower wrote in his book Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles.
What did the queen say that reduced Charles to tears? She reportedly called her a, “wicked woman,” who she, “wanted nothing to do with.”
But that was then and this is now, with Charles and Camilla happily married in the 21st century. See kids, you can eat your cake and have it too.
