Royal Family News: Prince Charles Pleased With Prince William After He Clapped Back At Race Claims

British royal family news reports that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles backed up Prince William yesterday following his comments that the royals were, “very much not a racist family.”

William yesterday was the first senior Windsor to address in person the allegations made by Harry and Meghan in their explosive Oprah Winfrey interview from Sunday night. At the time he referred to the debacle he also referred to Harry personally.

The prince’s comments were praised by insiders who have not spoken publicly about the issue. A written statement was released by the queen previously in which it stated the matter would be addressed internally.

Palace aides said the older brother did, “very well given the emotion and enormity of it all.”

William said he had not spoken to Harry about the TV show a full four days after it aired. Perhaps that’s because Harry has been too busy cleaning out the Chick Inn featured in the beginning of Oprah’s ratings blockbuster?

Royal Family News – Prince William Presented A Picture Of Calm

Buckingham Palace and Clarence House, the official homes of the Queen and the Prince of Wales, were also reported to both be supportive of William’s comments on Thursday.

Aides had initially insisted the couple would not answer questions about the interview because it would “not be appropriate” in a school setting which is where William was performing a royal duty.

The prince and his wife Kate visited a school in east London to support a youth mental health support service.
At official engagements the royals like to keep the lens on the issue and the group they are supporting.

But when Sky News reporter Inzamam Rashid shouted out two questions upon their departure William responded. He asked, “Sir, have you spoken to your brother since the interview?”

To which the prince replied, “I haven’t spoken to him yet, but I will do.”

Royal Family News – Prince Harry Will Be Talked To

William and Kate walked on and the reporter shouted, “Can you just let me know, is the Royal Family a racist family?”

At that point William turned and he said, “We’re very much not a racist family.”

Kensington Palace declined to comment, saying the duke had said all he would say on the matter.

The questions were to be expected but it was not expected that William would answer back.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Tuesday on behalf of the Queen expressing the family’s sadness at how “challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”
