Prince Charles British Royal family news reveals that Prince Charles doesn’t give a fig about HIPPA, he’s happy to tell the world about his medical status—up to a point. The United Kingdom prince has confirmed that indeed he will get the coronavirus vaccination, despite the royal family’s usual reticence about talking about private matters.

But this is no little private matter, it is both epic and personal for Prince Charles. This spring he announced to the world that he had coronavirus, thus he has a vested interest in the matter.

Prince Charles Has Announced He Will Get The Coronavirus Vaccine

He spilled the beans on Thursday when he and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles, both 72, visited a COVID-19 vaccination center. The center is at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and there he met with essential workers actually charged with giving the inoculation.

Due to his age Charles is classed in the second group to get the shot, after those age 80 and over and those living in care homes. He said, “I think I am way down the list and will have to wait.”

He noted, “I think I’ll have to wait for the AstraZeneca one before it gets to my turn. I’m some way down the list.”

The Prince Of Wales Said He Would Get The Coronavirus Vaccination When It Is His Turn

It has been speculated upon as to whether his mother, Queen Elizabeth, who is 94, will have the shot and if so if she will announce it. Normally such actions are a private matter, but as the country’s figurehead it is thought she might want to disclose if she gets it in order to reassure the nation.

Prince Charles had coronavirus in March and said during the visit that he has antibodies, but some research suggests antibodies don’t last in some people.

During the visit Prince Charles wore a face covering and protective glasses as he spoke to the NHS staff administering the vaccinations.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall toured the hospital with Deborah Lee, chief executive of the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, and chief nurse Professor Steve Hams, who is in charge of the vaccination program.

Coral Boston, a nurse, said, “I spoke to both of them, Charles especially. He talked about the disproportionate numbers of BAME people that Covid affected and how important it was for people of color to have the vaccination. It was great that he acknowledged that.”

“It meant such a lot. It’s just a feeling that they appreciate what you do, and the support as well – to have somebody of that level, I was in awe.”
