British royal family news reveal that Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla issued a cheery message on New Year’s Eve, wishing all a, “happy and restful New Year.”

The couple said on Twitter and Instagram, “A joy to see so many of you again this year – whether that be with elbow bumps, handshakes or a friendly wave from afar!”

“Clinking glasses Wishing you all a very happy and restful New Year,” the message concluded. Charles tweeted out a series of stills from royal events, and it was significant for who he included as well as who he excluded.

Prince Charles and Camilla were both seen in still after still, as was Queen Elizabeth. There were plenty of pics of Charles’ son and future heir, Prince William. There were also many photos of William along with his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. William will ascend the throne after Charles does so, taking his place following his mother’s reign. Significantly, the queen is set to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee next year, marking 70 years on the throne.

While Charles chose to highlight his mother, wife, first born son and daughter in law in the NYE message, he left out his other son and daughter in law, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The omission was glaring considering the way the couple have torched his father and the rest of the family for a solid year. The conspicuous absence spoke volumes without saying a word. Has Harry effectively been cancelled by his father the next king of England?

For all intents and purposes, the so-called Duke and Duchess of Sussex stamped their own cancellation when they ditched the monarchy for a life of “financial freedom” in California.
