Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Went Hollywood For Selfish Reasons

Royal Family News reveals that Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle, Duchess of Sussex consciously pursued a lifestyle in which they would be,“carefully managed celebrities,” rather than playing by the rules of the royal family. At least that’s what one royal expert, Graham Smith CEO of Republic, thinks.

Smith claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not willing to follow the UK Government’s tradition that calls for the Royal Family to not air their political opinions.

And as we saw, as soon as they hit American soil they started spouting off about politics almost nonstop, setting up photo ops with people like Gloria Steinem even.

Smith is the CEO of Republic, a group that calls for the Queen to be replaced by an elected, democratic head of state and for the monarchy to be abolished.

He said, “It is very clear that they wanted to be celebrities and they wanted to do it on their own terms.”

“They were not prepared to do things that the public and the Government expected of them such as keeping their opinions to themselves.”

“They were not prepared to put up with the sort of criticism that they have got,” he went on. They wanted the life of a carefully managed celebrity rather than a royal who is, even in a less than ideal way, open to scrutiny and challenge.”

The CEO of Republic claims that they will have a hard time maintaining the public’s interest in them because their royalty is about all they have going for them.

“I think Meghan and Harry are very clearly desperate to stay in the spotlight. They want to do it on their own terms, in their own way. The problem is that their only claim to fame is having been royals.”

“Because they walked away from that the interest in them is going to wane over the next few years.”

Royal Family News – Will Harry And Meghan Grow Boring?

Richard Fitzwilliams is a royal watcher who disagreed with this view. He told Express.co.uk, “This is seeing Harry and Meghan from a parochial point of view. They are concentrating on a future in America whilst keeping some British patronages and a Commonwealth role.”

“However, they are of course no longer senior working royals and have a deal with Netflix, with a public speaking agency and they want to launch their non-profit charitable foundation Archewell when the pandemic permits.”
