Buckingham Palace has a £369 million renovation. The fixer upper project could take five years. The building isn’t going to waste however, both Charles and Camilla conduct some business there.

As to Kate and William moving to Windsor following the death of Queen Elizabeth on September 8, that also appears to be a no-go. That’s because they moved into nearby Adelaide Cottage this summer with their three kids.

Royal Family News – Will Charles Relocate or Stay Put?

The Sun, reported, “It was previously said that William and Kate would move into Windsor Castle, but there are no plans for them to leave Adelaide Cottage.”

Queen Elizabeth typically spent the week in Buckingham Palace and moved to Windsor on the weekends. Now both residences are basically empty.

The Sun noted that a, “vacant Windsor Castle opens the prospect of Prince Harry and Meghan moving there, should they decide to return to the UK.” But what about the residence they rejected and still own, Frogmore Cottage? For now Harry’s cousin Eugenie is living there with her family.

And it’s been reported that the Markles were left “disappointed” when they were not allowed to move into the Windsor Castle after their 2018 wedding.

In Katie Nicholl’s book The New Royals, she quotes Lady Elizabeth Anson as saying that the ambitious couple wanted a, “suite of apartments,” in Windsor Castle. Instead, the Queen gave them Frogmore and the couple demanded extensive renovations. Ultimately they decided it was not up to their expectations.

Lady Elizabeth said, “The Queen’s entrance into the gardens is right next to their cottage. It is essentially her back yard, her solitude, and her privacy. She was giving that up in gifting Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage. We all thought it was very big of her. She said, ‘I hope they’ll respect it.’”

    Why don’t you all give Meghan and Harry a break, they are human beings and they also have a heart, do you all not think when you say all these negative things about them it not hurting? Give them a break and let them live their lives to suit themselves not people no matter who they are.
