Royal Family News: Prince Harry Impersonates Queen While Memorializing Prince Philip

British royal family news shows that cheeky Prince Harry found it appropriate to imitate his grandmother Queen Elizabeth in a documentary after the death of her husband Prince Philip. And why not, while Philip was on his death bed he chose to drag his family in a very public fashion. In a way Harry’s most recent royal reminiscence was much more mild, but still cheeky.

The occasion was a poignant BBC documentary about the life and times of Prince Philip who died in April at the age of 99.

The BBC aired “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers” on Wednesday. In it members of the royal family took turns sharing favorite and touching memories of the patriarch who was married to Elizabeth for 73 years. Harry got to talking about his grandfather’s love of flying.

This led him to mimicking the Queen in a pretend conversation on a plane flown by her husband.

“He was doing all the flying himself, or certainly chunks of it. When you’re flying, you don’t get an easy pass just for being the Duke of Edinburgh. You very much have to put in the work and prove your skill,” Harry recalled in the film.

He added, “But also he had an amazing privilege to get behind the controls and fly aircraft all around the world. I can just imagine my grandmother sitting in the back of a plane, having a cup of tea, going through turbulence and going, ‘Oh, Philip! What are you doing?’”

The runaway royal who threw his family under the bus in a scandalous interview with Oprah Winfrey in March while Philip was still in the hospital, said this about Philip: “I miss him more for my grandmother because I know how incredibly strong she was with him there. I also know she will be OK without him.”

“The two of them together were just the most adorable couple. To me, knowing the cheekiness of him and knowing that behind what the world sees you have two individuals who were very much in love and both, from a very young age, have dedicated their life to service … that is an incredible bond between two people.”
