Royal Family News: Prince George Is Now A “Grown Up”

British royal family news shows that Prince George turned 8-years old in July and in so doing it was, literally, time to put the big boy pants on. And he did so with splendor and aplomb.

What did Prince George do upon turning 8? It involves his wardrobe and it involves following in his father Prince William’s footsteps.

According to royal watcher Ingrid Steward, Prince George ditched the little boy shorts and instead is now being photographed in big boy trousers.

Royal Family News – Prince William Has A Tradition

She told People, “Boys wear short trousers until they are eight. It is very English. It is considered very suburban for a little boy to be in long trousers when he is just a little boy. It is shorts until you’re 8 and then ‘woo, you’re in long trousers.’ They suddenly feel very grown-up.”

She went on to say that this regal fashion tradition was one enacted by George’s father, Prince William. According to the royal expert, “Prince William didn’t wear long trousers until he went to school at Ludgrove at the age of eight or nine.”

George is third in the royal line of succession, behind his grandfather Prince Charles and his father William. He looked stunning and very grown-up when he was at the Euros at Wembley Stadium this summer with his mother Kate Middleton and his father. For the occasion he wore a suit and tie and it was reported that he wanted to twin with his elegant dad.

Fans loved the new look on the little prince and social media went wild for his wardrobe.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have made it clear they are very hands-on parents and the kids have been pictured attending the theater as well as numerous outdoor events with their parents. But it appears that the fashion protocol is one they are sticking to.

Now that George has hit the age of 8 there is much speculation as to his schooling. Will turning 8 mean a change in school locale for him? Many royal fans thought that he would switch the school he attends with his sister Princess Charlotte for a more formal boarding school in Berkshire like his dad. For now we will have to wait and see on that.
