British Royal Family News says that while there’s no doubt that many married couples fight, Prince Harry says that he had one fight with his wife Meghan Markle that made him snap. Not only that, but he also admits that he had to take a step back after realizing just how cruel he was speaking to his wife, too. Here’s what you need to know.

During one heated argument things got so bad that Harry realized he needed therapy. The Duke of Sussex made the admission in his new book, Spare. “She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that,” Harry writes, noting that he “nodded.”

Meghan Markle had said at the time that she wouldn’t tolerate that kind of behavior, nor would she raise her children in an “atmosphere of anger and disrespect.” When Meghan asked Harry where his outburst came from and whether he “overhear[d] adults speak that way … growing up,” the prince replied, “Yes.”

“It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be excavated, and it was obvious that I could use some help with the job,” Harry recalls.

In his book, Harry also admitted to taking cocaine as a teen. Despite what he’s said in the past, the Duke of Sussex now admits that he first experimented with cocaine when he was 17 and that he did it again years later. “I’d been offered a line, and I’d done a few more since,” Harry says in his new book, Spare.

“It wasn’t much fun, and it didn’t make me particularly happy, as it seemed to make everyone around me. But it did make me feel different, and that was the main goal.”

What’s more, Harry says that the British tabloids got it right when they portrayed his father King Charles III as a “harried single dad coping with a drug-addled child.” That’s because Harry was “of course … doing cocaine around this time.”
