Royal Family News: Prince Harry Speaks At Virtual Diana Awards Ceremony, Thinks Of Mom Every Day

British royal family news shows that Princes Harry and William have each shared tributes to their mother, the late Princess Diana, on what would have been her 61st birthday. She died 25 years ago in a tragic Paris car crash.
Royal experts noted that the failure of the brothers to come together for a joint tribute to their mother is another sign the rift between them has not healed, something that their mother would no doubt lament were she alive today.

Harry the Duke of Sussex remembered Diana during a virtual ceremony for the Diana Awards, named after her and broadcast online. He told the young winners that he thinks about his mother every day.

He shard, “There isn’t a day during the past two and a half decades where I haven’t thought about the mark she left, not only on me and my brother, but on all of our lives.”

He went on to tell the winners, “’I see her legacy in all of you. I see her legacy in a Diana Award community that spans multiple generations. I see her legacy every time I meet with families, young people, and children from all corner of the world. And I see my mum’s legacy when I look at my own children every single day.”

William sent a letter to the winners saying that he knew his beloved mother would be very proud of their achievements.

“The Diana Award honors people aged 9-25 for their social action and humanitarian work. The award ceremony honored 180 young philanthropists from 29 countries around the world, including 40 from the UK,” according to the Daily Mail.

It is not known from what location Harry appeared via video link to welcome the winners. He stated, “Today we’re reflecting on what would have been my mother’s 61st birthday. And this year it’s also 25 years since her passing.”

Harry also told the recipients, “This is a special year and one where I hope we take the extra time to not just remember her as she lived, but to reflect on the life she continues to leads through so many, including the young Changemakers with us today.”
