But what Prince Harry did say and his body language actually revealed more about the heartbreaking rift created with the royal family than Meghan said. In particular, Harry showed through words and gestures his pain over his relationships with his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William.

Prince Harry Angered At His Father Prince Charles?

Beyond his brother, Harry is struggling to cope with his feelings about his father, Prince Charles.

“There is a lot to work through there,” said Harry about his father. “I feel really let down, because he’s been through something similar. He knows what pain feels like.”

Meghan Markle’s husband also emphasized that although he loves Charles, “there is a lot of hurt that’s happened.” And Harry offered some intrigue, noting that although he plans to prioritize healing his relationship with Charles, “they only know what they know.”

The unspoken message? Harry seems to feel that his father is not aware of the pain that he and Meghan suffered in trying to fit into the royal family’s protocol.

Does Prince Harry Have Regrets?

During the interview, Oprah bluntly asked Harry if he had regrets about what happened before he and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties.

“No,” said Harry clearly. “I’m really proud of us. I’m so proud of my wife.”

Harry pointed out that Markle gave birth to their son Archie “during a period of time which was so cruel and so mean. Every day I was coming back to my life in London and she was crying while breastfeeding Archie. We did what we had to do.”

As for their future, Harry, Meghan, and Archie have settled into their new mansion in California. The fairy tale wedding may not have resulted in a fairy tale ending just yet, but throughout the interview with Oprah, the couple’s love shone through.

Harry showed his strong affection for his wife by holding her hand, reaching out for her during the most challenging moments of the interview.
