British royal family news teases that the literary world is abuzz with leaked news that Prince Harry is writing a tell-all. According to him it will be a, “wholly truthful memoir.” As opposed to one filled with half lies and untruths? Poor Harry keeps painting himself as a clown, even when he tries to appear earnest and trustworthy. Why in the world does he pay a PR team, clearly they can’t keep him from making a fool of himself?

In terms of his memoir, he continues to follow in the footsteps of another disgraced royal, the late Edward, Duke of Windsor. In fact, Prince Harry has much in common with the once royal commoner.

Edward was Queen Elizabeth’s uncle. He was to be king and had been coronated King Edward VIII before trading royal life for an American divorcee. Sound familiar?

Edward abdicated the throne in 1936 after Wallis Simpson put her talons in him. He was gaga over the woman, so much so that he threw away his royal life and his birthright for her. And, like Harry and Megs, Edward and Wallis struggled financially after they left the monarchy. Oh wait, that was one of Harry’s unwholly truthful truth bombs—he promises his book won’t have any of those.

And, like Harry, Edward spit out a ghost-written biography. Edward’s was titled A King’s Story: The Memoirs of the Duke of Windsor in 1951.

When Prince Harry announced that he’s writing an “accurate and wholly truthful” memoir many people thought of Edward as not many royals do such an audacious thing. “Given my character, my roving curiosity and independence, my life appeared to form a disconnected pattern — duty without decision, service without responsibility, pomp without power,” wrote Harry’s great-great-uncle, according to Amazon. That sounds like it could be Harry’s foreword, doesn’t it?

The elder went on: “Meanwhile, something had happened that, although I did not realize it at the time, was destined to change the whole course of my life. I met Wallis Warfield Simpson.” All Harry has to do is substitute Meghan’s name for Wallis’. Boom.

Royal Family News – Will Prince Harry Trash His Family in His Biography?

According to Prince Harry, “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become. I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

He has a lot in common with his disgraced uncle, that’s for sure.
