British royal family news divulges that in the wake of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s death on Friday there has been an outpouring of words about his life and times from commentators, royal experts and fans alike. Love him or not, many people respected and admired him for the rock solid way he went about his royal duties and never complained.
Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell is one of those trying to imagine how the duke’s death has hit his family. He was 99-years old and had been married to the queen for an incredible 73 years. He was the longest serving consort of any monarchy in the world and he seemed a constant presence even in retirement.
Royal Family News – What Did Prince Harry Think About Prince Philip’s Passing?
After the news broke of the prince’s death, Platell’s thoughts turned to Prince Harry, the grandson who in April trashed his family from a continent away while Philip laid in his hospital bed.
She thinks that Harry must have dreaded receiving that phone call, “telling him the terrible news that his grandfather had died. So helpless. So far away. So isolated from his family.”
Really? Is that how one feels about someone they set out to destroy on national tv, while that person is for all intents and purposes on his death bed? Because if that’s how Harry treats his loved ones, I hope to never become an enemy.

As she notes, he had not seen Prince Philip for more than a year, “ever since Megxit, when he took his wife and young son to the other side of the world to escape from being ‘trapped’ in the Royal Family, as he put it in that Oprah Winfrey interview.”
“But I hope Harry at least had a chance to say goodbye.” Perhaps that is more than Harry deserved? Interestingly enough, as much as Platell sympathizes with Harry, she is well aware of his dastardliness toward his family.

Royal Family News – Did Harry Say Goodbye To Philip?
As she notes, “It is perhaps too fanciful to hope that he apologized to Philip for the damage the interview caused the Royal Family to which Philip devoted his life, sacrificing a stellar naval career.”
“In stark contrast to Harry and Meghan, Philip always put honor and duty before his own pride and sometimes restless spirit. He wasn’t just the Queen’s ‘strength and stay all these years’, as she told us on their golden anniversary, he was the nation’s. And the effect of Megxit on his family and the monarchy must have devastated him.”

For the sake of Harry's emotional well-being, which we now know is much more fragile than we thought, I hope that he did apologize and make things right with his Grandfather, and The Queen…and hopefully with the other Royals. I would not want to have that on my conscience, that's for sure. Harry did come home, so maybe he finally plucked up the courage he needed to stand up to his manipulative, attention-seeking and greedy wife and tell her "what's what"!!!! Dare we hope?????
I would have thought he would have gone home to see his grandpa before he passed away. Why wait until after his death to go? He should have been there
