Royal Family News – When Was The Video Taken?
Royal Family news reveals that not long after someone uploaded the old clip to TikTok, it rapidly went viral with users flooding social media with comments about how “adorable” the royal couple appeared. Uploaded to the video sharing app by the account royalfamilyfanpage5, the clip has since been shared in excess of 400,000 times and gained more than 28,000 likes since it was first posted.
Royal fans may recall that the clip was first captured in 2014 during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s last official tour of the United States when they visited New York and Washington DC. They made the journey across the pond in December with the duchess pregnant with baby #2, Princess Charlotte. The couple left 16-month-old Prince George at home in the care of the Royal Family.
What Happened In The TikTok Clip?
During their stay in New York’s Carlyle Hotel, the couple visited the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and took in a Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game honoring a community partnership between the Cambridge’s Royal Foundation and the NBA.
In the viral TikTok video, we see the duke and duchess appear live up on the Jumbotron as speakers announced, “The NBA and the Brooklyn Nets would like to welcome Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Barclays Center for their first NBA Game.”
Royal Fans React Anew, Clip Goes Viral
When Kate discovered her face on the big screen, she looked somewhat shyly to William who waved with a smile as the crowd cheered along. After the video snippet was released on TikTok recently commenters called the royal couple’s reactions “adorable.”
One user responded to the clip, writing, “They look adorable [smiling face with heart-eyes emoji] I love them!” Another user played down their reaction, writing, “I’m sure they just wanted to fly below the radar.”
Perhaps thinking that a kiss would have made it better, one fan wrote, “Protocol says no personal affection in public. We didn’t get a kiss. Maybe one day.”
