British royal family news shows that Prince William was given a rude welcome on Saturday when he was booed at the FA Cup Final. Fans also booed when the National Anthem was played. Wembley Stadium booed William the Duke of Cambridge, who is also president of the Football Association, when before the kick-off he was introduced to players from each team, Chelsea and Liverpool.
According to reports, “fans gesticulated and made obscene hand gestures while the solemn Prince stood singing God Save the Queen. The outburst by thousands of fans was last night denounced across the political spectrum.”

However, when Prince William later handed out the medals the boo birds appeared to have been silenced. Later, Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle said, “I utterly condemn any fans who booed Prince William at Wembley today. The FA Cup final should be an occasion when we come together as a country. It should not be ruined by a minority of fans’ totally shameful behavior. In this year of all years – the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – this is dreadful.”

Karen Bradley is the Tory MP and former Culture Secretary and she said this: “It is utterly unacceptable and disgraceful that fans booed Prince William. I would urge the FA to take all necessary action and pursue those responsible.”
And, Sir Ed Davey who is the leader of the Liberal Democrats said of the booing, “We have the most wonderful Monarch and those fans who booed do not represent their clubs or our country.”

Royal Family News – William Later Handed Out Medals
The booing was said to have started before William appeared, “when the Christian hymn Abide With Me by the 60-strong B Positive Choir, whose members have sickle cell disease or who have close friends or family suffering from it,” began to sing according to the Daily Mail.
It kicked up again when Prince William was introduced and began shaking the hands of the players; the booing and jeers apexed during the National Anthem. Thus, the hooligans did not appear to be targeting William, rather they were a rowdy bunch intent on booing even a religious choir. Shame on them.
William took it all in stride however as it was reported that afterward he, “enjoyed a rare meal out with friends at Oswald’s, a private members’ club in Mayfair, Central London.”
