British royal family news reveals that Prince William and his father Prince Charles were treated as rock stars at the recent COP26 climate change summit in Glasgow, Scotland. Both men have been instrumental in advocating for the health of the planet. Prince Charles has spent decades raising the environmental alarm and William debuted the Earthshot Prize initiative as a means of healing the environment.
Royal Family News – Princes William And Harry Are On The Same Page
When Harry and William spoke at the summit world leaders took notice. In Glasgow, the Duke of Cambridge talked about the inaugural batch of winners of his Earthshot Prize Awards. One of the winners is green entrepreneur Sam Teicher. Sam talked to US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry about his work to save coral reefs from damage, and he also had the opportunity to talk to the Prime Ministers of Australia and the Bahamas.
Earthshot Winner Talks About The Planet
Sam told People magazine: “It wasn’t just a case of ‘please meet these people and do your own thing,’ he was hauling them over to come to talk to us. He was making sure they were there to help us.”
Sam Teicher runs the company Coral Vita with Gator Halpern. The company discovers new ways to grow coral and rebuild natural sea defenses.
Royal Family News – Earthshot Winners Are Making An Impact
Their company won the Earthshot Prize in the Revive Our Oceans category. As a result they won $1.3 million from Earthshot to develop a healing project over the next 10 years. Teicher said William asked the Prime Ministers and Envoy Kerry how Teicher and Halpern could contribute to their own projects by telling them: “You make those asks and listen to Sam.”
Teicher was impressed by William’s low key, direct manner and said that the Duke of Cambridge, “cut through traditional protocol,” with his informal method of speaking to all parties on an equal basis.
Teicher said of the future king of England, “He was incredibly direct and forthcoming and generous. His ability to cut through traditional protocol and just be very direct so solutions that are desperately needed can be implemented right away, or at least much more rapidly, is pretty incredible.”

Prince William’s Charm Aside, How Did The Actual Business Of The Conference Go?
According to Express analysis shows that the pledges from, “world leaders at the climate summit COP26 are nowhere near the goals of limiting global temperature rise. The analysis calculates that the world is heading for 2.4C of warming. This is far more than the 1.5C limit that the nations of the world are committed to.”
