British royal family news reveals that Prince William put his foot down over appearing with disgraced Prince Andrew and won. He allegedly told Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles that it was either him or Andrew at today’s Order of the Garter ceremony, the room ain’t big enough for the both of them.
Later today Prince Andrew was described as looking forlorn as he drove to Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace stated of Andrew, “his absence from the Windsor Castle procession and service was a ‘family decision.’”
Be that as it may, as the Daily Mail noted it coincides with Andrew’s, “huge controversy over his links to Jeffrey Epstein and alleged abuse of one of his ‘sex slaves.’” In February he paid one of these alleged sex slaves millions of dollars in an out of court settlement rather than appear in court to respond to sex abuse allegations and defend himself. Andrew has said he is innocent.
Royal Family News – Andrew Is Innocent?
Garter Day is one of the most colorful events in the royal calendar and despite whatever spin the palace puts on Andrew’s absence the truth remains that, “The decision was clearly taken at the 11th hour, because Andrew’s name was on the order of service.”
A source told the Evening Standard of William’s ultimatum, “The Duke of Cambridge was adamant. If York insisted on taking part publicly, he would withdraw. It would have also meant that his wife Kate would also not have attended.” Kate and William are the future face of the monarchy, Andrew is a sex assault case settler and apparently the queen saw fit to do what is in everyone’s best interests.

Royal Family News – Andrew Was Withdrawn
Nonetheless Andrew was allowed to join the Queen at the formal investiture of new members of the Order of the Garter where the Duchess of Cornwall and ex PM Tony Blair were present. Andrew’s public absence comes on the heels of reports that he is aggressively seeking a return to public life after being stripped of his titles and patronages.
However, reports indicate that Prince Charles and Prince William are against the queen reversing her decision to banish him from public life. Andrew was put in mothballs in January and in February he paid a multi-million-dollar settlement to Jeffrey Epstein’s self-reported sex trafficking victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
This effectively kept any further details of the alleged sexual abuse shut out of the public eye—just like Andrew.
