Royal Family News: Princess Anne Could Make History By Replacing Harry In This Pivotal Role

British royal family news shows that 2022 has been shaping up to be a year of historic change for the monarchy. In February Queen Elizabeth decreed that Camilla Duchess of York will be Queen Consort when the time comes. In addition there is speculation that Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge could be given disgraced Prince Andrew’s former role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

On top of all that, it is now being predicted that the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, will replace Prince Harry as the head of the Royal Marines.

If she does take on the senior military role she will make history as being the first woman to do so. The role was vacated by Prince Harry after being in it for less than two years. It was one of the many royal titles and charities he gave up after marrying former game show girl Meghan Markle and moving to America. Both Harry and Meghan made a sorry name for themselves after ditching the monarchy for money.

Anne the Princess Royal currently holds the honorary title of Admiral in the Royal Navy, but it is expected that the role will be made official in August once the Queen signs off on the move.

Royal Family News – Princess Anne Set To Inherit A Prestigious Role

Princess Anne is married to a naval officer, Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, so she would appear to be a perfect fit for the new role. This year the Royal family has undergone epic changes and in June the queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, the commemoration of 70 years on the throne.

The Queen had her 96th birthday last week and she has significantly reduced her royal commitments in recent months. She was diagnosed with coronavirus in February and was hospitalized late last year for an undisclosed ailment.

Through the years Anne has gained a reputation for being the hardest working royal. At the moment her assignments include Colonel in Chief of the King’s Royal Hussars, the Royal Scots, The Gurkhas and the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.

Royal Family News – Princess Anne Is A Hard Working Royal

According to the Daily Star, a senior Royal Marine source said that the outfit, “would be delighted if the Princess Royal becomes the next Captain-General.” They said, “Princess Anne has a long tradition of working with the Royal Navy and would be a perfect fit for the role.”
