Both Camilla and her husband King Charles were diagnosed with the condition in the past and both were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including a booster shot.

Initially Buckingham Palace announced that Camilla would postpone her official royal engagement in the West Midlands due to suffering from a seasonal illness. That statement was later backtracked to note that the 75-year old has contracted the virus a second time.
Camilla’s week ahead was jam packed with events including today’s cancellation at Elmhurst Ballet School in Edgbaston, Birmingham, followed by a library tour in Telford.

Camilla’s last public event was on February 9 at which time she toured a domestic violence center in Battersea, south London. The Queen Consort toured the STORM (Support, Trust, Opportunity, Rebuilding and Motivation) family center and met with volunteers to mark the organization’s 19th anniversary.
STORM was founded in 2005 by local women seeking a safe shelter to recover from problematic situations and abusive relationships. Camilla who, “condemned a ‘pandemic’ of violence against women in the UK last December, looked eager to learn more about the center’s initiatives.”
The day before Camilla and King Charles held a Clarence House reception to celebrate the second anniversary of her online book club The Reading Room.
Today’s announcement is reminiscent of last February when Queen Consort Camilla was diagnosed with the virus and cancelled several scheduled appearances. According to the Daily Mail, Camilla also cancelled her appearance at a remembrance service at Westminster Abbey in 2019 because of a chest infection.
