British royal family news shows that Queen Elizabeth and her heir Prince Charles today honored healthcare workers who took care of the nation during the Covid-19 epidemic.
The royals hosted a small audience at Windsor Castle to recognize Britain’s health service workers who collectively were awarded the George Cross which is second only to the Victoria Cross. A health executive from the four nations was on hand to receive a George Cross which was laid out on a cushion and carried by the Queen’s Equerry Lieutenant Colonel Tom White.

Although the queen has scaled back her engagement calendar, today she was in high spirits as she rewarded the heroes who shepherded the UK through one of its darkest times.
Among those in the audience was May Parsons, the nurse who was the first to deliver the Covid-19 vaccine (outside of clinical trials). Parsons performed her historic duty on December 8, 2020.
