British royal family news shows that fans can now be just like the queen with one very stylish accessory, for sale on her estate. Earlier this year Queen Elizabeth began to use a walking stick, or cane, as a mobility aid and she has been seen with some rather nice sticks as of late. The 96-has even taken to using her late husband Prince Philip’s canes when she is out and about, due to reported mobility issues.
Now it seems that she has seized on the brill idea of selling walking sticks at her royal shop, on her Norfolk estate.
According to the Daily Mail the handsome sticks are £55 and handmade from locally-sourced wood. As such each one is a unique creation, fit for a queen or king! A picture shows the elegant canes standing in a tall vase, next to the chutney and beer.
The shape resembles a stag horn such as a cane that the queen has used in the past.

The gorgeous canes are crafted using traditional methods with woods such as Hazel, Ash and Yew; some are made of a wood blend, such as Hazel and Ash together. The canes are also of different lengths so as to accommodate most.
She celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in early June and at that time was seen with a brand new cane, “which appeared to have a marble handle and wooden body and which was made by Cumbria-based traditional stick maker Dennis Wall.”

In fact, General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith, chief of the general staff, gave her the gift as a symbol of the British Army’s support. That cane, “is made of mottled hazel, locally sourced in Cumbria, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said. The wood is thought of as a protective talisman in English mythology and is traditionally known in Ireland as the ‘Tree of Knowledge.’”

The handle on the specially made cane is made from Highland Cow horn. This brand is a breed originating in the Scottish Highlands and known for its hardy and robust constitution. It also has a silver cuff which reads: “The Army presents its loyal support to THE SOVEREIGN. Platinum Jubilee MCMLII-MMXXII.”
At the time General Sir Mark said, “It was a great privilege in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee to hand over a small token of our gratitude and appreciation of our sovereign’s contribution to the Army over the last 70 years.”
“We wanted something useful and relevant and always to hand that represented our loyal support and which Her Majesty might find helpful. And this beautiful walking stick, fashioned from mottled hazel with a Highland Cow horn handle, fitted the bill perfectly. It’s elegant, simple and wonderfully handy.”
