British Royal family news reveals it looks like United States President Joe Biden will be traveling by this summer after all. That’s because there’s a new report that says Queen Elizabeth is set to host President Joe Biden at Buckingham Palace before the G7 summit this year. That is, if the global pandemic that has been the coronavirus will subside in time for everyone’s plans. Here’s what you need to know.
Queen Elizabeth Preparing To Host President Joe Biden At Buckingham Palace
According to Britain’s Sunday Times, Queen Elizabeth will welcome President Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, to Buckingham Palace when Britain hosts the G7 summit in June. The Queen will be joined by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles along with Prince William and Kate Middleton. It’s not known if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make the trip from California to London for the special occasion.
Queen Elizabeth and President Biden will have a one-on-one meeting during the gathering. “There is a desire from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to have a very strong royal presence before G7 events, and all senior members of the royal family will be part of what happens,” a senior royal source told the Times.
As many royal fans know, the Queen has met with almost every President of the United States, with former President Lyndon B. Johnson being the lone exception. Queen Elizabeth first met with President Biden’s predecessor, Donald Trump, back in July of 2018. Trump and his family also paid a state visit to Buckingham Palace the following year.
British Royal News – The Biden’s Are Coming To Buckingham Palace
As far as Queen Elizabeth’s travel plans are concerned, it looks like Her Majesty will be staying close to home this year as soon as possible. Even though there are several reports indicating that she is eager to get back to work with her royal engagements and public appearances, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon as the UK is still battling the Covid-19 virus with staggering case numbers and hospitalizations.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about President Biden’s summer visit, but we will keep you updated with all of the latest details as they come in.
