British royal family news reveals that Queen Elizabeth sees something of her sister Princess Margaret in her grandson Prince Harry. According to a royal expert, “The Queen knows that being the spare is hard.” says a royal biographer.
Royal Family News – The Heir And The Spare Is The Royal Way
Andrew Morton compares Margaret and Harry, both spares as second borns, noting that have much in common. According to the man who wrote the definitive biograph of the late Princess Diana, the Queen saw both royals as lost in some ways.
“I think the Queen knows that being the spare is hard and a part of her recognizes that Harry was a sometimes a bit of a lost soul just like her sister,” Andrew told Vanity Fair.
Royal Family News – Queen Elizabeth Knows Being The Spare Is Painful
His latest book is the bio Elizabeth & Margaret: The Intimate World of the Windsor Sisters, in which he examines the sisters’ close but turbulent relationship. Princess Margaret struggled to find her place within the monarchy and Harry chose to step down from his duties as a senior royal, so it makes sense to compare them.
“She has always wanted to protect Harry and I think in part that’s because she watched Margaret fall victim to the system,” he continues. “Shutting out Margaret didn’t help and the Queen has learned from that.”
“She didn’t want history to repeat itself with Harry.” Erm, too late? While Margaret arguably hurt herself during her pained lifetime, Harry appears intent on bringing down the monarchy gilded brick by brick.
Andrew goes to explains, “When you compare personalities, Harry is like Margaret, a royal rebel. Margaret once said ‘disobedience is my joy’ and you see some of that in Harry. The Queen also knew Margaret sometimes felt like an outsider and I think that’s why she has made sure the door is always open for Harry to return to the royal fold. She will have a lot of empathy and sympathy for him because she grew up watching her younger sister act the role of the spare, which is not easy.”
Prince Harry Is A Mouthy Royal Who Has Given A Tell-All
Morton also vows that even though Harry and Margaret have negatively affected the royal image, the Queen loves her grandson just like she loved her sister.
“She has a lot of affection for Harry. She was there the day Harry lost his mother and has been there for him ever since,” he added. “She has deliberately taken him under her wing. I think as a grandmother she has been far more understanding than as a mother at times.”

The queen is right he is lost and that's what allowed MM to take advantage of him.
He was such easy prey for a treacherous, and dangerous predator like Meghan.
I wouldn't give him my support as a Royal or any other kind of leader now. If all it takes is the influence of a lover to turn on his family how can the rest of the world ever trust him. Harry has demonstrated he will put his own desires before family, duty and honour. Not to mention the petty, spiteful actions when he doesn't get what he wants! He is not a person I would follow or take advice from. I would rather not have a king if Harry was the only choice. Thank god William is the successor.
