Prince Andrew the Duke of York accompanied his mother from Windsor Castle to Westminster Abbey for the memorial to the late Philip who died last April at the age of 99. Last year’s funeral was highly restricted due to Covid rules, with just 30 people allowed to attend. Today’s service saw 1,800 individuals pay their respects in person.
Disgraced Andrew Had Prominent Role
Prince Andrew was seen riding in the car with the 95-year-old monarch and walked her down the aisle before taking a seat next to her. Royal watchers claim the stunning move was her way of stating that he has a role at family occasions. While he may have a role, the absence of his ex-wife, whom he still lives with, may indicate that she does not have a role.
This month Andrew reportedly paid millions of dollars to a woman who accused him of sexual assault. The out-of-court settlement and the nature of the civil lawsuit led many to call Andrew a disgrace who has no place at royal functions.
What might William and Charles think of the queen’s very public display of support for her disgraced son? Royal expert Angela Levin told MailOnline, “They would have been very disappointed and uneasy about Andrew’s presence but they would have known that this was the Queen’s decision.”

She added, “I’m sure they were probably thinking something very different inside but Charles and William have always known that the Queen has a soft spot for Andrew and if she wants her favorite son with her, she would be entitled to do that.”
The monarchy is also a family and as Levin notes, “It was one of those moments when the Queen exercised her position both as a mother and the Queen. She obviously needed someone to help her on that small walk, but I noticed that when she got up to leave at the end of the service, Prince Charles got up too, as if to help her. But she ignored him and wanted Andrew to take her out instead. She turned to him, not Charles.”
The queen’s presence was up in the air until two hours beforehand. She has experienced health and mobility issues as of late and as such has canceled several royal engagements. But today she arrived at the Abbey at around 11.30 am and she held onto Andrew’s elbow with her left hand and carried a cane in her right hand.

My comment is nothing to this. I just want to that i love Kate Middleton and prince William. They should be the next King and Queen. Not dumb and dumber. This is Prince Charles and his so called wife.
Is the Queen losing her marbles! Making a decision to be escorted to such an event on the arm of someone who is the subject of a criminal investigation of abuse against young women! Of all the members of her family she chose to honor a someone who is evading a criminal investigation! Wow are we going backwards to a time where the monarchy aren't accountable for their actions against who they by such actions deem lesser than their esteemed selves! If the people want to strengthen a case to abolish the monarchy that act of self-righteousness and entitlement just gave them some justification and reason.
It doesn’t matter to me one way or another Her Majesty is obviously frail and when she dies Charles will be King and he will decide who does what. As a Mother I would say that Her Majesty loves Andrew but doesn’t like what he has done, she will have put him in his place no doubt, just as she didn’t like Charles and Diana’s divorce, however Diana’s death ended the marriage and now Charles is happy with Camilla. We have had a very faithful Queen who has done what she promised. May she continue with the help of all her family. God bless our Queen.

So called? They are married.
Diana would have pulled another one of her endless stunts, like fainting, crying, falling asleep… Just about short of running down the aisle naked to avert attention away from Charles. As was her MO through out her entire aldutruss so called marriage. Remember, SHE was the FIRST to stray, and most with married men.
I never said he should be banned from paying his repects. I said it is disrespectful to permit someone involved in such a sinister situation, who has used his privilege to evade speaking to the law. If he is innocent then he should have not need to avoid clearing his name. And to parade such a person at a public event, on the arm of the Queen of all people is disgraceful and disrespectful to the people the Queen and royals represent, some of which have suffered abuse. How would you feel if your daughter had been abused? It is uncouth to have to watch someone who is involved in an abuse scandal being paraded in public like such actions do not matter.
It wasn't a "Public Event".
It was a Family Memorial to a beloved Patriarch.
The Queen was very kind to admit the Press/Media into such a personal family gathering.
Then, they return that kind gesture to bash her relentlessly, just as they did after Diana died.
She chose to have private time with her Grandchildren and was just about tossed off the Throne for doing so
They can't have it both ways. Perhaps she should have held a "Closed Door" Service.
