British royal family news reveals that that the nation can look forward to Queen Elizabeth paying homage to her “rock” Prince Philip when her Christmas Day message is broadcast. The late Duke died at the age of 99 in April. Since then it has been a rocky road for Her Majesty, given the reemergence of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown and her own health woes.
Buckingham Palace has issued a poignant photograph of the queen from the video address which will air prior to the Christmas day holiday. She can be seen seated at her desk for the speech which was recorded last week. It has been said that as she faces her first major holiday without her husband of 73 years, her speech is especially personal. The picture was taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, and a picture of her and Philip is on display.

Inside sources said they expected runaway royals Harry and Meghan to be invited to the service. This yea , as last year, the couple who chose a life of “financial freedom” over royal duty will celebrate the holidays at their California home. Today they issued their Christmas card, long after the royal family issued theirs.
The card gave the first public look at their sweet daughter Lili who was born in June. Their son Archie was also seen, sitting on his father’s lap and Lili was held in the air by Meghan. Archie has inherited his dad’s red hair!

The speech will air on BBC1 and ITV in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Last week the queen cancelled her annual Christmas Lunch with her family, and this week she canceled her annual Christmas celebration at Sandringham. Both decisions were based on government advice and constituted a precautionary approach based on rising coronavirus cases.
