Royal Family News: Sarah Ferguson Speaks Out About Princess Diana

British royal family news reveals that Sarah Ferguson is spilling all about her relationship with her late sister-in-law Princess Diana. On July 1 Diana would have turned 60 and on that day a statue in Kensington Gardens was dedicated to her.

Sarah, Duchess of York met Diana when they were both teenagers and before they married into the royal family. Both marriages ended in divorce. Sarah told People, “We promised each other we would always be together – there was never any daylight between us. But everybody wanted that because we were so strong together. People want to break something so strong.”

She said they were besties and that she used the affectionate nickname, Duch, for Diana.

Royal Family News – Sarah Ferguson Is Speaking Out

Sarah is mother to two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Her interview with People includes gracing the cover of the magazine. She added of her late friend, “She taught me so much of public life. She was so brave. We used to have the most incredible time together. [Diana] adored my girls. She adored [her] boys. This would be her haven. Her heaven.”

One of Diana’s sons has been throwing a lot of shade at the family. What would she have thought of the way Harry is trashing the monarchy? Sarah thinks that Diana would be proud of Harry and William and their “wonderful” wives, and would be, “completed obsessed,” with her five grandchildren, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, Prince Louis, three, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, two, and one-month-old Lilibet.

Inside the magazine Sarah poses in photos apparently taken at her Royal Lodge home in Windsor. The photos include the cover shot as well as her outdoors leaning against a tree, and in a brown outfit featuring a plunging neckline.

Her daughter Eugenie made her a grandma 5-months ago with the birth of son August. She turned 61 last October and says that recent events have helped her to get, “out of her own way.”

“I’ve really become Sarah. The Duchess is there. Good old Fergie’s there too. But Sarah is authentically present,” she said.

Sarah Ferguson Is A Grandma

She explained that her ‘Fergie’ image of the perky redhead who dated the Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, is a distant memory. “When you have a sense of humor and you’re a redhead, everyone takes you for a big hurricane. But sometimes, you don’t always want to be the storm.”

Her novel, Her Heart for a Compass, debuts on August 3 and is about one of Sarah’s ancestors, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.
