Royal family news shows that there is trouble in paradise for the Danish royal family, and it all has to do with titles. This is the same issue rocking the British royal family, with Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly incensed that that their two children will not be allowed to call themselves a prince and princess.

Let’s unpack what is going on between Queen Margrethe and her son Prince Joachim who is making loud noises today over being, “given five days’ notice that they would be stripped of their titles by their grandmother.”

According to Prince Joachim, his children Nikolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13, and Athena, 10, have been “harmed” by the news that they are no longer princes and princesses and cannot use His or Her Royal Highness.

He told Danish news outlet Ekstra Bladet, “They are put in a situation they do not understand.” Nikolai and Felix are both male models, and that may reflect their non-understanding?

Unlike Britain’s royals, the Danes have conducted themselves with much more compunction in public leading Danish royal reporter Kenth Madsen to say, “There has never been a public conflict between the Queen and Prince Joachim.”

For her part, Queen Margrethe is on record saying that she wants her, “grandchildren to ‘shape their own lives without being limited by the special considerations and duties’ that come with a formal affiliation with the Danish Royal Family.”

The outlet stated that her words hinted, “that it is a move designed to streamline the monarchy – in echoes of King Charles’ desire for the British Royal Family, and those of other European royal households.”

Royal Family News – Denmark Royals In Chaos

Prince Harry, erm, make that Prince Joachim, “was said to be informed of the decision in May, however he has claimed this morning that he was only informed of the decision five days ago.” He seems to contradict himself here: “I was given five days’ notice to tell them. In May, I was presented with a plan which, by and large, was that when the children each turned 25, it would happen. Now I had only five days to tell them.”

Sounds similar to the creative wording of Harry, maybe Joachim will take a page (see what we did there) from the hot head and write a tell-all of his own now?
