British royal family news discloses that some senior royals could welcome Ukrainian refugees by offering them shelter at their properties. According to the Daily Mail, “Aides to the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William are understood to be examining a range of ‘practical measures’, including the possibility of jobs and training courses, as well as providing accommodation.”
Charles is said to be considering spaces on his Dumfries House estate in Ayrshire and among his Duchy of Cornwall holdings.
Royal Family News – Will The Royals Give Refuge?
It’s been reported that the Queen’s Balmoral estate on Royal Deeside, and Sandringham in Norfolk, could provide space and offer temporary tourism-related and hospitality jobs. Both sites are the queen’s private holdings and not taxpayer funded properties.
A source told The Mail on Sunday, “All the households are united in this – the Queen, Charles and William – with all three agreed that they should find a practical way to help Ukrainian refugees.”

The source added, “It means looking at accommodation options in England, including the Duchy of Cornwall, where Charles has a lot of holiday homes, and Scotland, where he has Dumfries House and the Queen has her Balmoral estate.”
In addition to possible relocation of refugees, Queen Elizabeth, Charles and his wife Camilla, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have all donated funds to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine appeal.
Both Charles and William have spoken in support of Ukrainians resisting Russian aggression, but they reportedly want to do more. Currently Britons are preparing to welcome refugees under the Government’s Homes for Ukraine plan.

Will Refugees Come to the UK?
One source at Dumfries House said the Prince’s Foundation, under the auspices of the estate’s education center, offers training classes in horticulture and sustainable farm practices to engineering.
William and Kate have also stepped up to offer the use of their Royal Foundation to provide mental health assistance to the Ukrainians traumatized by the actions of war in their homeland. At this time the couple are in Belize undertaking a Platinum Jubilee tour of the Caribbean. The tour got off to an inauspicious start after indigenous peoples protested the visit, referring to past “colonialism.”
