British royal family news reveals that Queen Elizabeth has finally met her great-granddaughter and namesake Lilibet after the infant was born one year ago in California. The occasion came as the baby’s parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, had lunch with the Her Majesty and senior royals in a private meet up as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their little girl to the Queen – yesterday at Windsor after attending a private Royal Family lunch at Buckingham Palace following the Trooping the Colour parade.

Following the spectacular meet up with their daughter’s namesake, its now thought that Harry and Meghan are expected to remain mostly low-profile over the four-day Jubilee weekend. Thus far there is no indication that the dreaded Netflix camera are filming a tacky Keeping Up With the Markle’s type show.
That wasn’t the case at the recent Invictus games when crews liberally caught their every wave laugh and sneeze taking the attention away from the wounded athletes who were there to compete not be a part of a sketchy reality tv show.
The Sussexes are now expected to attend today’s Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral representing their first royal event in the two years following Megxit.

Prince Charles will represent the Queen at the service in London today after it was announced she must stand due to discomfort that enveloped her at Thursday’s busy events. She suffered episodic mobility issues yesterday – and, in a statement, the Palace revealed the Queen ‘greatly enjoyed’ her birthday parade and flypast but ‘did experience some discomfort’.
It said: ‘Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty, with great reluctance, has concluded that she will not attend.’

Later that evening she set off a symbolic chain of lights around he world by pushing a globe shaped button.
There was no appearance from Prince Andrew today following his positive coronavirus diagnosis. And the queen will watch tomorrow’s broadcast on BBC One from Windsor Castle.
It was made a big deal that Harry and Megan were banned from the balcony yesterday and speaks to the diminished role within the monarchy.
