British royal family news reveals that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has a novel idea for the family’s Christmas celebration this year—crisis negotiation and group therapy. How fun?
A royal source told the Australian magazine New Idea, via The Express, that Her Majesty has extended an invite to her U.S. based relatives, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to join in the peculiar celebration. The Palace hasn’t confirmed any of this but keeps in mind that this is the same institution that kept Prince William’s positive COVID diagnosis a secret for seven months!
Will The Queen Really Host A Right Royal And Merry Family Group Therapy Session Over The Holidays?
Actually, the queen might be onto something if indeed this is her plan of action. Who among us hasn’t wished for a hostage negotiator to pop up during one of those predictable holiday standoffs?
The royal family has had a rougher than normal year of it so professional help would be welcome. There is the Megxit mess, the alleged estrangement of Prince William and Prince Harry and their lovely wives, Prince Philip being fed up with Harry’s treatment of the military he adores, etc. Maybe the gift of gab with a professional peacemaker is just what this family needs.
After Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Stepped Away From Royal Duties The Palace Had Much Spinning To Do
According to the inside source, “The fact that the Queen is even considering something as New-Age as a family counseling session given how old she is, shows how bad things are.”
“The Queen doesn’t trust that the Sussexes, Cambridges and Prince Charles will ever be able to sort out their differences on their own, so it’s time for professional help.”
Right now it looks like Harry and Meghan Markle will be spending Christmas in Montecito, hosting Katherine McPhee and his “surrogate dad” David Foster. Does he really have time for a Zoom intervention?
And the UK has rolled out stringent measures as to how families can celebrate the holidays this year which could put a crimp in any in-person counseling sessions the queen has planned. The newly enacted COVID protocols limit how many people can gather together to fight, we mean feast, over the Thanksgiving bird, and how long merrymakers can linger over the unwrapping of unwanted Christmas presents.
Considering all the fun squashing, maybe the queen has come up with an appropriate holiday alternative this year.
