Royal Family News: The Real Reason Princes Harry and William Are More Famous Than Their Wives

British royal family news shows that despite daily screaming headlines about Meghan Markle’s latest catastrophic screw up, her husband Prince Harry is “more famous” in America than she is.

On top of that, her brother-in-law Prince William is also more famous than she is in America. Let’s break down why this is, royal fans!

Royal Family News: William is More Famous than Meghan

A new YouGov new indicates that more “Americans are aware of Harry and William than Meghan and Kate,” Kate being William’s wife.

On a quarterly basis YouGov asks U.S. adults what they think of assorted public figures and this time out they discovered that 85 percent were “familiar with Meghan and 84 percent with Kate … compared to 95 percent for both Harry and William.” The poll covered the time period between April and June of this year.

Royal Family News: Meghan Is Not Popular

According to the pollsters, they describe fame as the degree to which people have heard of a public figure, aka how many people recognize their name. This is in opposition to the measurement of popularity an element that is measured separately.

In this regard Princess Kate “remains the most popular royal among Americans after 46 percent said they liked her compared to 11 percent who disliked her, giving a net approval of +35.” In contrast, Meghan was the least liked of the four royals who once were called the Fab Four. Not anymore.

Royal Family News: Kate Is Highly Popular

The poll showed that 40 percent enjoy Meghan while 23 percent felt negatively about her. Harry Markle “was liked by 48 percent and disliked by 24 percent. When asked about William, 43 percent of respondents liked him and 21 percent said meh.

How to explain the polling results? After all Kate is a beloved global icon who will one day be queen, and Meghan is notorious for being notorious.

One possible reason for the results skewing toward the men is that Harry and William have been known to the public since their births as the spare and the heir, respectively.

They are also the children of two high profile public figures, King Charles and the late Princess Diana. The couple gained notoriety for their bitter divorce, and upon her death in 1997 the love of the public for Diana was reflected in her being named the “People’s Princess.”
